Casa del Mar
Miami, FL
A waterfront villa defined by sweeping horizontal lines, floor-to-ceiling glass, and an infinity pool that dissolves into Biscayne Bay. The open floor plan connects living, dining, and outdoor entertaining as one continuous sequence.
Casa del Mar was conceived as a single, unbroken gesture — a horizontal plane hovering above the water's edge. The client's brief was unambiguous: a home where inside and outside cease to exist as separate ideas.
We responded with a radically transparent plan. A continuous glass facade wraps the entire south elevation, dissolving the boundary between the living areas and Biscayne Bay. A 25-meter cantilevered roof overhang provides shade without walls, and the infinity pool's vanishing edge completes the illusion of living on the water itself.
The material language is restrained but rich — poured concrete, warm travertine, and blackened bronze hardware. Every surface was selected to age gracefully under the Miami sun, developing a patina that deepens the home's connection to its coastal environment.
